Stir Crazy

Ah the anticipation of the holidays.  Fun.  Enthusiasm.  The first few days are great and loaded with fun things to do - crafts, new movies, musicals, decorating.  John and Abigail really enjoyed being together with Alicia at the park and zoo like they were all summer long.  And the weather was great too.
Then the big day came.  Guest came and some are gone now.  The bird got ate, and we are all likely not going to touch another left over... But the rains and the cold set in....  no worries we have the new holiday to bring in.  Pull out the boxes, put up the trees, play the Christmas music and get cozy.  But we did not get cozy.  Bang went Thor's hammer, roll went the plastic balls, crash went just about everything glass and shiny.  That's okay was said the first few times.  Even games with the broom and vacuum. Repeat.  Repeat.  GRRRRR Repeat.

Tomorrow is supposed to be another day, but alas the morning is cold, rainy, and indoors bang, roll and crash.  Repeat.
As we bundle up the kids for a walk enjoy some pictures of the earlier part of the week.  And here's hoping we turn the roars and frowns upside down.

Gingerbread decorating -- Abigail was a decorating machine the first half hour, then off for some socializing, and then a dancing machine the last hour

Her finished work

John's master piece

While Matt and I were doing things in the yard, John built a cannon.  He pushed it down the drive, said all clear and look out and then started firing at the neighborhood.

Beautiful Abigail posing with the flowers.

Monday the kids enjoyed a pjs morning and a walk and long trip to the park.

That evening, Abigail was my sous chef and cut the avocado and tomatoes and prepped all the taco toppings for dinner.

Tuesday Zoo day!

Wednesday -- great kids at the mad house of Central market and then Rudolf the Red nose Reindeer at the Bass Hall.  Abigail loved it.  John enjoyed most of it.
Watching an anticipated new show and having a special ice cream picnic.

Making sweet gifts for the guests Thursday morning.

Carving the bird with Dad.  John was so excited to eat the big Turkey.

What went wrong.....
