Abi McStuffins
Abi, John, Alicia and I all went to the annual butterfly exhibit at the botanical gardens. It is a beautiful greenhouse sauna filled with exotic butterflies from all over the world. We learned how most of the species of butterflies in the exhibit have a life span of only two weeks, sunlight helps them heal, they need to sit and rest in areas of modest shade and moisture. We learned all about the health and happiness and habitat of butterflies while Abi put on her white "butterfly doctor" coat and helped the volunteers finding all the sick and injured and unfortunately dead butterflies. I think the volunteers who consisted of 75+ year old donators to the Botanical gardens were so excited by her enthusiasm but very glad to see her go -- she had them running around and left them with several butterflies to care for and lots of areas to repair improve the butterfly environment.
