| Look at the confidence and smile -- huge change from this day last year. Abigail loves school. She loves walking in each morning and seeing her friends and their families....but she does not like change. We learned from last year -- to watch for signs of anxiety and tiredness. Not just Matt and I -- Abigail too. |
| Abigail was enjoying the morning excitement and then as the steps up to school appeared -- we changed. We took a little time for hugs and quiet talk away from the clouds. And she asked me to take one more picture. |
| And so she did an amazing job all week keeping her emotions in check, embracing the new, and learning that she really is glad she has Mrs. Valverde as home room and Spainish days are not so bad. She can do it. We are also thankful for Mrs. Valverde who is so encouraging. Abigail was asked to sing a Spainish song on Friday in class. She said no. Mrs. Valverde said she would not earn all her Dojo points (She is trying to earn enough to bring a classroom hamster home on the weekends) for the day; she said she would call on her again after a few students. She listened to the others and practiced it a bit in her head. When her turn came around, she did it! No mistakes, no corrections -- and she earned her Dojo points! |
| And the week for John -- the effortlessly cool man had fun of course! He watched the eclipse. He went to the zoo. |
He went to the gardens and downtown fountains. And he enjoyed play and stay and his Lily B friends at pick up.
| He had a blast in his last days of summer. |
| The two seemed to enjoy more snuggle time together as well. |
| And we all got hugs and cuddles and love from our friends, family, and neighbors. |
