12 days of December

Oh my.  Our house has  been full of excitement and anticipation of all the wonders of the season.

Abigail and her good friend, Audrey, after sampling the cookies they made at Daisy Scouts.

Our group for cookie making was 5 girls.  Three were older Brownie Scouts.  Each girl measured an ingredient and put it in the bowl.  Abigail put in the salt. It was a generous helping and it made for very tasty cookies!  Each girl put in their favorite candy too -- lots of peppermint, M&Ms, and one Nerds!  Abigail did not want to help mixing so she helped me clean all the dishes!  It was a big success!  The girls shared their cookies with family, friends, and teachers.

We had several chilly days and John loved nothing more but snuggling in his box (yep a cardboard box we have decorated with Thor hammers, dinosaurs, and a giant Bee that throws lightening bolts).  The box is a great place to snuggle in while we read books!
Blinky, the Elf, made his first appearance on December 1st.  He has brought us several new ornaments to replace our broken ones.  The kids love to come down each morning and hunt Blinky's new hiding spot.
Last Friday, we played Thor's hammer on a beautiful afternoon and loaded Matt and the truck with car on a trailer to Austin.  John loved watching Matt drive the car up the trailer and secure it down.

December 8th - Heading to see Santa at the Zoo!

We had a great picture this year. No breath holding by John.  Abigail realized how long the line was and graciously moved through with efficiency.

This week, we have had wonderfully warm fall days.  John has enjoyed running and crashing through the leaves.
Last music class of the Fiddle semester!

The toddler favorite past times - crashing, hitting, throwing and making messes -- it is like Fall is his season.
Icee break while decorating outdoors.

Lots of sidewalk chalk art -- including this visual display of light sabers.  There are at least four more that were inside at the time of the picture. ...And guess what John asked Santa to bring him?
I know!  Do we really need another light saber?
Yes Abigail.  It and your mermaids will rest assure be here Christmas morning!
