16 months

At 16 months, John is really expressing himself.  He can say over 20 words.  This week he looked in a mirror and said, "I see Sissy and I see me."  He is really trying to sound out words, like "Donald",  or "hat v. hot" and "Bebe v. baby".  But go figure, he refuses to learn or acknowledge the sign or word, more, at the dinner table.

Our little lefty has 7 teeth, is a very adventurous eater, and his favorite food is whatever is new or on his sister's plate.  John likes variety.  He is a thinker, and prefers to be as self sufficient and participatory in all his daily care activities.  He is very thoughtful little guy who loves to cackle and wrestle with his sister, but will yield toys back to her.

He really enjoys cleaning --even tolerates cleaning his face.  John  helps me clean his hands, face, and chair after meals.  He was very upset with me this weekend when I collected all the toys into large heaping piles in the play room to clean, sort, organize.  Though he loves water more -- he is ready to jump in the bath ten minutes after the last one.  He enjoys watching a little TV with Abigail -- mainly any music scenes in which he is the first to pick up the beat and start dancing.  We have started a new semester of music class too, which has been great fun for him.
