While we slept exhausted and cozy back in our own beds, the strangest storm blew into Fort Worth. Thunder and lightning shook and lit up the sky, and left us a nice covering of snow. We bundled ourselves up to play in the backyard. Abigail actually wore her mittens, well for a few minutes. And it was actually practical for her snow boots for a change. She loved walking in the snow, but quickly decided it was not so easy to touch anything, especially with wet mittens.

By the weekend it was beautiful and 65 degrees and sunny and I think we all enjoyed hanging outside in the leaves, feeding the fish and playing chase at the Botanical Gardens over the snow day. Since we have come back from our vacation, Abigail is taking more interest in the potty and her big girl room. Today, her headboard was fixed and she was so excited to have us put the bed together. She sat on her pillows next to the large window while we attempted to put the bed together, again and again -- clang after clang after muttered exasperation. It did not go so well and alas her bed is still not operational -- another lessen in patience for all of us. Maybe a box-spring and mattress on the floor may be the way to go!
