Over the last several weeks, Abigail has either worn her pink or yellow tutu everyday. Occasionally, we could get the orange tutu, or a couple of twirl, smock dresses as alternatives. We have received several tutu's - our count now is 11 tutus. But some she will only dress her dolls and the chair in. On Friday, she received 3 new tutus, pink/purple, blue and purple. The blue one was love at first sight and we wore it all evening on Friday and Saturday. Today, she wore the purple one -- I am so excited for an outfit with just pink accents!
We are getting ready for our upcoming trip to Disney world! She definitely has Mickey fever! For the last week she has been playing with her bathing suits, so she will be so excited to run on the beach at the hotel and play in the pool very soon. Today she was ready to pack up the bathroom supplies. Instead, we headed to the zoo -- we had it nearly to ourselves. We headed first to see the lions, seeing the rhino, white tiger, lesser bird of paradise along the way. When we were nearly to the lions, the male lion began roaring, so we just waved hello and kept walking toward the kangaroos and penguins. The parakeets were hungry and we fed several with 3 or 4 birds waiting their turns on our arms. We even had a few bird fights -- Abigail noticed that the two birds fighting lost their spot for several other birds that shared. Cool learning at the zoo! A few eagles, hawks, vultures, and macaws rounded out our trip and then we played run and chase back to the exit.
Along the way, Abigail ran off down a flight of stairs -- we had to stop and have a conversation about strangers. I summed up strangers to Sid on Toy Story I, the mean boy who is mean to his toys. The remainder of the long trip back to the car was spent pointing at groups of people, "They are mean strangers; they are mean to their toys." At this point I really wished the zoo was a lot more crowded and noisier, and she was not so good at annunciation. Thankfully, by the time we got to the flower cookie restaurant for mac and cheese and a cookie, she had forgotten and was back to people watching without finger pointing!
