Olympics, cookies and crafts

Last week, we were busy decorating Valentines for Abigail's teachers, friends, family and loved ones.  She and I really enjoyed our crafts -- she designed them all, and I really just watched.  We also made cookies (here she just watched and tried to eat as much frosting and cookie dough as possible).  On Friday, the whole family went out to deliver Valentine's cookies to neighbors.  We had talked about it all week.  We were going to give cookies to our realtor, the neighbors who brought us cookies at Christmas, food when John was born, and the neighbor who has baby twin girls and still managed the time and energy to save Slim from himself and all those cars on Forest Park.
At the first house, Abigail spies a soon to be friend she has never met before, and she invites herself in for a play date -- takes off her shoes and leaps up the stairs while Matt and I contemplate how we did not manage to see this coming. While Abigail had her play date, we delivered the remaining cookies and circled the play date house like a couple of hawks.
Abi and John have been playing very well together too.  They are not in unison in play and  movement like the ice dancing partners, but rather in alternating parallel movements that come together briefly to giggle or just give the on-lookers a sigh of relief and awe that a head on collision did not occur.
And if you are wondering why you did not get a Valentines from Abi -- it is because I have not mailed them yet but hopefully they will be out soon along with adorable school pictures!
