Well, after the beach, it seemed warmer, ok stifling HOT! We have no more camps planned, just embracing the last days of Summer. The kids enjoyed being home and playing with toys. They took Jordan to their favorite move, The Secret Life of Pets. Abigail had a few play dates too. Bebe came to visit. Birthday parties and playdates with friends, and a few, "I miss schools." were heard. :)
| John was invited to a neighborhood birthday party. He cautiously greeted each animal. He was ready to go in about 10 minutes. |
| This was more of Abigail's style. So we called her over. She never left the sides of those chicks, bunnies, piglets and goats. |
| When the party was over, Abigail packed up every single animal into their cages for the animal staff. She even caught the duck. This was a big deal. The animal staff said the duck was very difficult to catch and she and the other older boys could try but they likely will not catch it. The boys took it on as a challenge, but Abigail took it as her mission. My favorite part was the grandpa who had to step in and tell the older boys to back off and let the girl who caught the duck put it in the cage! She was more fortified in her plans to own a farm and live in a barn when she grows up. Next Summer, we have made plans for Farm Camp! |
| We had one Lily B and Tanglewood 1st Grade girls party. |
| Abigail loved having Bebe over for 5 days. It was a long trip. She was really upset when it was time for Bebe to go home. She cried the whole way back from the airport. She even had a call from a fiend saying she wanted to play. Abigail said, "I need an hour to cry and be sad otherwise you will irritate me with all your questions about my sadness." Thankfully, the mom only heard, I need an hour to be sad. Abigail created this terrarium in the hour of sadness and reflection. Audrey and Abigail had great fun and laughter, playing horses the remainder of the afternoon. |
| And then, before my eyes, I have a 6 year old! |
| She and I went to the craft store to buy ladybug houses to paint and put in the garden. |
| We painted first and then Abigail is currently adding stickers to the finished products. |
| We are still working on these but here are some of the beautiful results. |
| And since the whole family is on vacation: I have to give this shout out to the best idea to let Mama sleep until 9 (wow) -- Harry Potter Movie picnic. Pretty sweet set up! Thank you Matt |
