In John's closet is the cutest blue gingham outfit with a pumpkin on the front. He was going to wear it this past Sunday at Abi's SAS fall festival. Abi was going to run and scream and play with her friends from school. And we were going to spend a bunch of money on 99 cent confetti eggs. Abi was going to love those confetti eggs. ....

| Abi on Saturday evening -- we made brownies. Was a fun day. She was really happy to make brownies. |
This is about 24 hours later. About midnight on Sunday morning, Abigail started having a tummy ache. By 2 AM she was throwing up repeatedly for several hours. She kept asking Matt, what is this 'mean stuff'? The mean stuff rocked our world - we all pulled all nighters, John was in quarantine the entire day in his room, our washing machine ran in a sanitary clean/ clean washer cycle for 36 hours straight -- and we never made it to the festival.
We are so thankful that the mean stuff lasted only 24 hours, Abi is healthy again, asking -- is the mean stuff the flu virus that Sid the Science Kid talks about -- can I get a vaccine? The rest of us stayed healthy. ...and on Wednesday, we found out it came from school where several classmates succumbed, and the teachers spent Monday disinfecting the classroom on what was suppose to be their teacher retreat day.
This week, we are catching up on sleep, celebrating Matt's birthday, and eating a bland BRAT diet.

| On Matt's birthday, John wore this cute Owl Always <3 Dad thermals -- it was our first cold day of Fall. |
 |
| Abigail practicing a safer brotherly love - holding hands, no kissing. |
 |
| John was so glad to get his toys back -- they all were taken to the washer. |
 |
| This weekend, we hope to head down to a pumpkin patch with the neighbors and enjoy the beautiful fall weather. |
 |
| I am so excited I cannot wait. |
